[SOLVED] BeadaPanel 2W sd card image restoration ?
Hello,
I corrupted the SD card on my BeadaPanel 2W while trying to read it with an SD card reader. The goal was to replace the boot logo with a custom image, but that's not the issue at hand.
I couldn't find the exact procedure for flashing the card for this model, nor the original image. There is only a compressed archive containing a rootfs.tar file, which does not appear to contain the SD card partition information.
Can you provide the procedure and image for this model?
Thank you.
PS: I have win32diskimager and Diskgenius, and I have a clean base after formatting the card with SD card formatter.

Re: BeadaPanel 2W sd card image ?
You can follow this link to backup the whole TF card to your local PC.

And please do the same procedures to backup your 'corrupted' TF card and upload somewhere for our further analysis.
Thanks

What is the reason to make you think the card was corrupted? Were you aware of result when you format a tf card without backup in priority?
Re: BeadaPanel 2W sd card image restoration ?
What makes me think that the card has been corrupted is that:
- I removed the card from the screen and connected it to the computer
- I did not click on the Windows notification telling me to repair it
- All the partitions were present, so I was able to modify the bootlogo.bmp (if that's what it's called) with the same image with a red line drawn on Paint to see if the modification worked.
- I disconnected it properly and put it back in the screen.
- And then the screen wouldn't boot anymore.
- I put the card back in my adapter and connected it to the computer.
- I put the original logo back, which I had duplicated in bootlogo.bmp.old on the card, to see if that was the problem.
- Same problem: the screen still wouldn't boot.
- When I put the card back in my card reader, I don't think I could see the partitions anymore (I'm not sure), so I decided to restore everything via the zip file.
I thought I had seen the procedure on this forum and the zip file was available, so I formatted the card to start from scratch (there was no point in saving it at that point since nothing was working), and it was only afterwards that I realized that the posts on this forum were not complete in terms of card restoration. Which is a shame because corruption seems to happen quickly on the 2W, given the other two posts.
Thanks for your help.

Re: BeadaPanel 2W sd card image restoration ?
1.Windows treats TF card with multi partitions very rudely and its corresponding notification is very misleading. Inexperienced users often mis operate with it.
2.There is no instructions and/or tutorials tell BeadaPanel can support logo changing at all. Where you learn this trick from? I am really curious.

3.As you already mentioned in OP there is no instructions and/or tutorials telling how to build a TF card image for BeadaPanel. So where you learn the trick to download and extract a zip file and write it to a tf card via a card reader?
Re: BeadaPanel 2W sd card image restoration ?
You are not the first user complaining BeadaPanel not working due to a TF card image issue. Most of them made same mistakes as I mentioned in my previous post. So this thread may be an early alert to future inexperienced users but willing to explore BeadaPanel internal TF card — be careful before you pull out it and plug into your Window PC, mis operation may cause high service costs for both you and us sides.
Re: BeadaPanel 2W sd card image restoration ?
Thank you, I will switch to Linux if I need to add files in the future.
In the meantime, the support email redirected me here for this issue, can you provide me with instructions or should I return the product and request a refund?

Re: BeadaPanel 2W sd card image restoration ?
Right now, you will have to contact seller for a factory recovery since they will need check your customer info. Of course, if you had already done a TF card backup before you did any operations to it. Then you will just need to write the backup image to your TF card and insert the card back to your device. The device will then recover to normal operation.
