The only technical blurp on the board that I found is listed below:
Some extended output modules for 800x600 VGA use programmable DA conversion chips. First of all, the main chip needs to be initialized, which can be implemented by using either 2410/2440 GPIO or a simple single chip microcomputer. By using 2410/2440 GPIO, the source code is part of the Bootloader, and more importantly it is different from Linux version or WinCE version. Currently some vendors might provide configurations in the form of object files(.o) ; however, no source code will be provided. By using a single chip microcomputer, the VGA extended module works like an adapter plate. Most of the LCDs have similar kinds of VGA modules that perform “reverse” AD conversion.
No DA conversion chips are in our package. It adapts FPGA+SDRAM according to the display interval of VGA. This method can fully utilize the features of a 2410/2440 LCD Controller. Since the VGA extended module utilizes the features of a 2440 LCD Controller, its driver will set corresponding registers. This is quite similar to common TFT LCD drivers, and this design will guarantee high resolution quality.
